The Therapeutic Hemapheresis Department serves as a resource
to area physicians and hospitals in the treatment of hematologic,
oncologic, immunologic and neurologic diseases, and hyperlipidemia.
Therapeutic hemapheresis involves the replacement, separation or
removal of specific blood cells or plasma components from the
blood.
The department offers around the clock bedside service to local
hospitals provided by highly skilled nurses and technicians.
Outpatient services are also available for therapeutic phlebotomy,
blood transfusion and intravenous gammaglobulin infusions.
The Department’s physicians are available to offer technical and
medical consultations.
The Therapeutic Hemapheresis Department is accredited by the
American Association of Blood Banks and is inspected by the Food
and Drug Administration.
